Hurricane Lee – Another Weather Warning

Being Prepared

At this point it is a bit uncertain whether Hurricane Lee will have an impact on the east coast, but taking steps to minimize the impact is sensible as it roars up the Atlantic.

“remember that flood, or water coming from the outside is a primary exclusion on home insurance policies. “

Here are a few steps to take:

•  Secure your outdoor furniture, best if put indoors

•  Check all your down spouts to be certain they are adequately fastened

•  Check your gutter leaders so they direct water away from your basement

•  It might be late to have your gutters cleaned for Hurricane Lee, but clean gutters help to avoid water damage

•  If you are in a low-lying area, move your car(s) to higher ground. Saltwater intrusion will be a total loss to your vehicle

Remember that flood, or water coming from the outside is a primary exclusion on home insurance policies.
