Auto ID Card

Eliminating an Inconvenience

Where is my Identification Card?

If you happen to be one of the unlucky drivers that gets pulled over by the police for any reason, the two things they ask for is your registration and then your insurance ID card. If you are highly organized with every renewal of your auto insurance you diligently pull your current insurance card from the paper or electronic policy and put it in your glove box. Good step.

“All insurer’s place the new, current id card on the last page of your policy.”

Here’s the problem!

All insurer’s place the new, current id card on the last page of your policy and the great majority of drivers do not diligently pull the current ID and put it in the glove box.

Here is the fix. Locate your ID card and take a photo of the card on your phone for easy retrieval so you are not issued a ticket for failure to provide evidence of insurance. A result that you can easily avoid.

And that goes for your registration as well.

Yes, you will need to locate both the registration and your current ID card to take a photo but keeping both documents in an easy to retrieve spot could save you from the obligation of providing evidence if you are ever pulled over or have an accident.
