A Few Organizational Tips for your Documents
What is your most important personal device?
In our opinion it is your cell phone! Do you check it when you wake up, is it with you all the time wherever you travel? Let’s put it to use!
Here are a few Tips!
If you are the unlucky driver who has an accident or gets pulled over for a violation, what is the first thing the police officer says? They ask for your license, registration, & Insurance identification card. If you have had the car for more than a year this can be a problem, especially for the Insurance ID card. When your insurance renews many carriers include the renewal ID card as the last page of your electronic, or paper copy. Who looks through all those pages to find the new ID card?
The simple first step is to take a photo of the ID card to retain it on your phone. You can also take a picture of your license and registration to be fully organized.
But that step breaks down if you do not pull your new ID card from your renewal policy.
So, step 2 will be to put a reoccurring calendar reminder to alert you to your insurance policy renewal with a note to pull and take a photo of your new ID card.
And while you are putting reminders in your calendar, put in a date before your license and registration expires. It could be 2-4 years out but if you have moved, DMV may not be up to date. With these reminders you will never be caught missing ID’s and being handed a ticket/violation for expired documents.
Put your most important personal device to better use in staying organized!!
