The world is at your fingertips when you sit down at the computer in these wired-in days. Answers to most of your questions are just a few clicks away. What can't you do is the real question.

You can research contractors for renovations, or book a cruise for a spring getaway. You can chat with your son who is on an exchange program in Japan, and wire him money without ever getting up from your computer.

Far and away, one of the greatest conveniences to come of this (yes, aside from shopping) is online banking. Being able to manage your money, pay your bills, and make changes to your retirement plans without having to stand in line at the bank or wait for the mail is a priceless ability.

For the new year, if you haven't already, resolve to learn the online features your bank offers. Most major utility companies offer paper free billing and automatic withdrawals from your account. You can arrange to have your bank send out your insurance or other regular payments like your mortgage. Make your life simpler in the new year, and find some extra time for yourself using modern techonology.
