Airline travel is picking up again this holiday season after a couple years of travelers staying home. More people are passing through the airports to visit family and take their holiday vacations in warmer climates. A few items to remember to keep your travels smooth: 1. Give yourself extra time; security is taking longer due to heavier screening processes. 2. Leave all holiday gifts unwrapped until you get to your destination. 3. Instead of using
locks on your luggage (which are not allowed on several airlines due
to new security screening procedures) use a twist tie or plastic zip
ties that can be clipped or removed with scissors.
Shopping online is convenient, fast, and you can do it 24 hours a day, but remember to be cautious when supplying your credit card information. Certain credit card companies are offering “virtual” credit card numbers that will expire after each use. Check with Citibank and Discover for more details. In addition, Verified by Visa allows you to create a password for online transactions with your Visa card. Visit Safeshopping.org for other valuable tips on shopping safely online.

While everyone is celebrating, keep in mind that hosting a party for friends, family, or clients can make you liable for your guests. If you are serving alcohol, that liability can extend beyond the end of your driveway. Don’t be afraid to call a cab or arrange a ride home for someone who has been drinking. And it’s best to make sure you’re covered for any eventuality, so ensure your personal or commercial liability umbrella coverage is in place.
